I'm partnered in a funky little food business. It's what you would probably call a chip wagon or fry trailer or fast (but good!) food outlet on wheels! When I was a kid, and we went en famille to Brantford to visit the extended family, it was tradition to drop by "the" chip wagon on the way home and buy some french fries. They were served up hot and crispy and I liked a little ketchup on them. My Dad was a salt and malt vinegar man. Those fries set the standard for all fries to follow and few have met the challenge.
I believe that we have achieved that lofty goal with the new venture called - try not to grin when you read this name - You Want Fries With That! I've posted a picture of our sign/logo in my friends and family gallery! This is a first rate operation, folks. Months of preparation have gone into every detail. I've been mostly an arms-length observer and co-decision-maker, because of geography, but I'm immensely proud of what my partner in fries (and crime and life!) has done with relentless energy, to prepare for the launch.
Yesterday, while we scurried around on a fry testing, sign setting, last minute detail day, at least four cars pulled up to place orders - and we aren't even open yet! We rewarded these hungry folks with free fries and an invitation to come back.
We open Monday at 11 am and we'll be there for lunch and dinner. So if you find yourself on Highway 22 (Egremont Drive) west of London in the Strathroy area, look for the white trailer with the yellow signs and skirting at the Action Sales compound. If you get to Arkona, you've gone too far. Say Hi to the awesome Lydia and when she says, You want fries with that, be sure to tell her Yes and you won't be disappointed.
