Lisa Brandt Leaving 680News
Toronto, ONT – After six years of co-hosting the number one morning show in Canada with Paul Cook, Lisa Brandt has announced that she will be leaving 680News in October.
Lisa says, “After months of soul searching I have come to the conclusion that it’s time for a lifestyle change. I am not going to another radio station. I’m going to pursue my second love which is writing. I’ll continue doing my columns and I’m polishing my second book.” She added that, “Working at 680News is the BEST job I’ve ever had, but I just feel it’s time to let someone else experience it. It is difficult to leave my co-anchor Paul Cook, who I often to refer to as my ‘work husband’. I will also miss all my other colleagues and our amazing listeners, but it’s time for a change.”
Station Vice President and General Manager John Hinnen says, “When two anchors work as well together as Lisa and Paul, you never want that chemistry to change so when Lisa told me she was leaving, I tried to get her to stay. She will be missed by everyone.”
Paul Cook, Lisa’s co-anchor and friend says, “I am very sorry to see her leave both on a professional and personal level. That said, I wish her every success in whatever she does in the future.”
Lisa will be with 680News until the end of October. Always one with a quick comeback, she says, “October is over three months away. How can they miss me if I won’t go away? I will savour the remaining months and will always cherish the memories of my time at 680News.”
