Erin Davis pointed the way after a CHFI listener showed Erin her own Shutterfly creation. The concept is simple. You upload your digital photos to the website and create your own photo book, choosing the layout, adding captions and picking a cover. You can work from a template or customize each page. Then after you're done (which can take several hours, days or weeks, as you save your project and come back to it when you have time) you hit "send" and order your copies. The finished book comes to you in the mail and it's beyond gorgeous. The quality of the photos is exquisite and it's as nice as any coffee table book you can buy.
I've created two such books so far of our trip to Europe. One is a trip overview with scenery and locations and another is just of family, for the cousins we stayed with in England. They've seen all of the sights so this second book is focused on people. Both books turned out beautifully and they're suprisingly affordable, I suppose because I did the lion's share of the work; type and picture setting. All Shutterfly really has to do is print, bind and ship. But what a gorgeous and unique keepsake! They also print photos from digital pictures and mail them, for a song. It's the best of the old and new methods of developing pictures and it's well worth sharing.
